This guy is full of hyperbolic, enviro “fire and brimstone” – so typical
of Environmentalist dogmatists.
If one considers all the areas the enviros have closed to drilling two
things become readily apparent; there are billions of barrels of oil (
most easily accessible and safer to drill) that we aren’t touching
because of some canon of Eviro-theology. Second, if we were allowed by
the high priests of Environmentalism (Priestess Lisa Jackson comes
quickly to mind) we wouldn’t to need to drill at depths where safety
becomes problematic. The Obama Administration and the “hard greens”
force oil companies to drill under difficult, costly and hazardous
circumstances. And, we pay the price – in many ways.
“Green Energy” is a chimera – at least in the next 2 or 3 decades. And,
most of it is not “eco-friendly”. Wind turbines produce little energy
for the amount of “ecosystem” they destroy. I know that’s a news flash
for most of you, but if you stop to think what a “wind-turbine” is -
it’s nothing more than a gigantic scarecrow with flailing arms and
thrumming vibration. They drive animals away and often kill birds that
fly into them. The storage facilities present problems with lead and
toxic chemical pollution – and again, much land and access roads must
be devoted to those facilities.
Solar is even more inefficient and has the same storage and land use
issues.
Nuclear and hydroelectric are the best answers but the enviros have
worries about waste disposal and native fish and frogs, and God only
knows what else.
Regarding Global Warming – Why should we care? In the past, the
greatest periods of bio-diversity and abundance occurred during periods
when Co2 levels were many times higher than today. Note, there was no
anthropogenic cause in the past…ummm…must have been something else.
On the other hand, if our current “inter-glacial period” ends with
another Ice Age then civilization will suffer far greater chaos than
from the warming alternative. Remember, the climate has always changed
- and sometimes very quickly.
In a greenhouse Co2 levels are much higher than in the surrounding,
ambient air. You guessed it – more productivity, larger fruit and plants.
You know, that could be the reason there is more biomass in the tropics
than in permafrost, tundra and glaciers.
Check it out yourself. Sprinkle a few seeds in your freezer and take
note of your harvest.
Remember, Environmentalism has transformed itself into the official
religion of the state and progressives. It influences the media,
schools, government and the courts and its creed is simple;
“All forms of human endeavor are evil. The only permissible
interactions between man and nature are; conservation, preservation,
restoration and veneration.”
